Fay Hutchinson

My work reflects an interest in people’s psychological relationships to their surroundings. It is based on the idea that property and identity are deeply intertwined. I am also intrigued by how our surrounding environments such as buildings, roads and other configurations moderate mediate and modulate our movement; the work reflects my own experience of cork city. These portraits of cork will be scattered throughout the city in an outdoor exhibition using the city as a gallery space and existing structures to frame the work. This subtle exhibition will utilize areas such as menu display cases outside restaurants and other similar structures.
