A Series of Psycho-Geographical Walks in Cork City 
Dérives is a series of lunchtime walks accompanying ArtTrail 2009. These walks will investigate
the city from a range of artistic, historical and psycho-geographical perspectives, re-examining
the urban environment through subjective experiences, narrative explorations and conceptual
approaches.
Led by artists and artist collectives, Dérives is intended to challenge and explore the urban
landscape and our perceptions of the city. All walks are free and will start at 1.10pm. Walks last
approx 50.mins, Places are limited so arrive early!

For this walk, artist David Blandy will adopt the guise of the Barefoot Pilgrim in search of ‘The Soul of Cork’.
Blandy will lead a tour through Cork’s various record stores and charity shops in search of soul vinyl records, playing tracks from his purchases (through a small
portable amplifier) along the way.


Call to ArtTrail Talk Shop in the SAVOY on Thursday evening, to hear his ‘The Soul of Cork’ Dj set. 8-10pm FREE 


Based in London, Blandy has exhibited both throughout the UK and internationally, including exhibitions at Artprojx Space, London, Platform China Project Space, Beijing, Spike Island, Bristol and A.I.R. Hotel MariaKapel, Hoorn, The Netherlands.
